Visual Sketchnotes
I’ve been meaning to write about this for awhile. I came across this wonderful visual sketch note by Craighton Berman in the summer time. I was at a point where I was feeling really creatively stunted. I am not a designer by any means but my job does require me to think creatively.
Surprisingly, I usually find my mojo from doing something completely unrelated to the job at hand. I think there’s something to be said about getting out of one’s headspace if you feel kind of stuck and taking a leap into another. Anyway, I loved the idea of visually sketching out talks really inspiring.
I went out the next day and bought myself a new moleskin and started listening to lots of interesting lectures online, mainly TEDtalks and Creative Mornings. (God, I love the Internet!) I found it really helped me get out of my funk. Needless to say, my sketches look nothing like this, more type and highlighted words but I highly recommend trying this out if you ever feel creatively stuck.
